The Helicopter Company
Aviation Infrastructure Advisory Services

Unified Aviation collaborated with The Helicopter Company (THC) of Saudi Arabia to provide Aviation Infrastructure Advisory Services.

This project aimed to address various challenges, including navigating the complexities of heliport design and regulation compliance with GACAR 138, improving operational processes, and managing heliport operations with unique regional requirements in Makkah and Medina. The goal was to develop a comprehensive solution that integrates design, construction, consulting, and software management tools to enhance safety and operational standards.

Our Project Objectives

Primary Goal: Elevate the safety and operational standards of THC by implementing a rigorous inspection and reporting process for heliport operations. This would ensure adherence to both physical infrastructure and operational practices, in line with safety and efficiency standards.

Secondary Goal: Develop a continuous learning program for heliport staff, establish a mentoring initiative to share expertise, and foster collaborative engagements with regional stakeholders to refine operational guidelines and establish best practices. This aims to enhance the overall value proposition for stakeholders and ensure sustainable, future-ready aviation infrastructure in the region.

The Approach

Our strategy for elevating THC Aviation's standards focused on rigorous inspections and continuous improvement processes. We established a clear reporting hierarchy to escalate concerns promptly. This approach covered physical infrastructure and operational practices, ensuring compliance with safety standards. We also collaborated with regional stakeholders and government entities to refine guidelines and establish best practices.

Our Solutions

We addressed THC Aviation's needs by instituting a rigorous inspection process and comprehensive planning. Our solutions included designing and certifying heliports per GACAR 138 regulations, developing a continuous learning program for staff, and implementing a robust quality assurance system. We also initiated a mentoring program to share insights and foster ongoing enhancement.
